About: The Staff Scientist (Bioinformatics) will

support growing requirements in user services and training at the forefront of biological science using high performance computing, including contributions to the development, implementation and support of highly-scaling codes and workflows for use on NCI HPC systems

NCI is seeking applicants with skills & experience in the following areas:

  • Bioinformatics analysis in HPC environments including design and implementation of bioinformatics processing pipelines, methods for processing at scale, workflow management, and management of source and product data.
  • development of scientific application codes, parallel programming using MPI or OpenMP, performance measurement and profiling of HPC applications, scientific application debugging, algorithms for high-performance numeric computation.
  • Linux systems administration
  • programming language such as C, C++, Java or Fortran
