Position: Outreach and Communications Manager
The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) is a project funded by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) and led by the University of Melbourne. AURIN is a national e-Infrastructure that links researchers, policy and decision makers, from academia, government and industry, to data, analytical tools and visualisation components to improve decision making within Australia’s cities and regional areas. AURIN enables researchers to investigate areas such as transport and mobility, housing, employment, population health, liveability, disaster resilience and many others.
The Outreach and Communications Manager leads the Outreach and Communications Team. The incumbent works with the Outreach and Communications Team to plan and deliver multiple concurrent strategic initiatives and activities focused on sustaining and improving AURIN’s engagement with stakeholders and demonstrating AURIN’s research and real-world impacts.
This key leadership role is both strategic and hands-on. It requires a deep understanding of the social and urban data science fields, particularly in relation to the use of geospatial data and concepts. The appointee will have exceptional relationship, analytical, and problem-solving skills and be able to work with researchers of varied technical expertise and to enable AURIN’s technical teams to understand and meet researcher’s needs. The role will require exceptional organisational and management skills, critical planning ability and a supportive leadership style to ensure the team can deliver its schedule of work in a complex and fast-paced environment.
