Impact of ICT-in-agriculture projects on rural resilience in Africa and Asia

Professor Richard Heeks, Director, Centre for Development Informatics, GDI, SEED, University of Manchester, UK has requested me to distribute a new open-access paper which analyses 45 ICT4Ag cases from Africa and Asia.

It finds an uneven impact: household resilience is built far more than community resilience, and equality is undermined almost as much as strengthened.

A new conceptual model is developed to explain the uneven impact of ICTs on rural resilience. Policy and practice recommendations and a future research agenda are set out.

Do please pass on further to relevant colleagues.
